Beside the inherent beauty and majesty captured in the above video, it has always struck me that despite all our advances we still remain at the whims of nature. We see now, how a single event can seemingly cause, both directly and indirectly, much of Europe (and consequently most of the world) to effectively shut-down. It then puts into question the robustness of our infrastructures - if not painfully revealing how interrelated everything is.
Good design is very important. However, ensuring legibility can only go so far as to the ability for an individual to understand something.

Beyond the sheer awesomeness at face-value, as a planner I think it interesting to note the different typology and street-layout present in the different cities. Whilst we do not know which specific parts of the cities were travelled, I cannot help but notice the similarities between the Asian cities (bar the Tokyo park) in possessing narrower streets which seems to have much more activities occurring.
